Member Thoughts and Photos
Here are some of the thoughts and photos that were taken of and by our members as they travelled along on their journeys to Finding Mary.
Month of May
Thank you to our member JoAnn Fellner's for organizing the beautiful display of Our Lady for Father Bill Browne's talk on May 6, 2021. Also, thank you to JoAnn's friend Michelle Springer, who helped set up the display and thank you to The Event Source that provided the lovely blue linens. Thank you to Lora at the Parma Florist who made the gorgeous Mary's Crown of Roses and the floral arrangements that enhanced the May 6th speaker series and the May 16th crowning event.

Lori Modic crowned Our Lady during the May Crowning event, while our Music Director, Jon Thibo, provided wonderful Marian music. Thank you to everyone who participated and brought their flowers to honor Our Lady during our May Crowning!

From Lil Jirousek visiting Ellicott City, Maryland: "Located here are Our Lady’s Center Marian Shrine which includes a chapel and bookstore, as well as a conference room. I bought The Worlds’ First Love - Mary, Mother of God by Fulton J. Sheen which was recommended by the bookstore operator. Also, a grotto is outside on the premises. In addition, nearby is the Shrine of St. Anthony’s which is a Franciscan Friary, a residence of friars, a huge Italian-style hall and chapel and book store which was built in the 1800’s on 200 acres. It also has a small farm and hiking trails. There is a Lourdes, France grotto outside. Many prayer groups and retreats are held here. I feel inspired and motivated by our visit here and am sorry to be missing the meeting."

From our member Marcia...
Maria Hart has provided her photo of the Mother of Sorrows. She states, "This is from the Washington DC Basilica of the Immaculate Conception. It is my favorite chapel."

"I love the daily morning Latin Mass at Mary Queen of Peace on Pearl Rd in Cleveland - so it doesn’t “count” as my “new” Marian Church for our homework but I couldn’t resist sending photos If you did not receive any from this beautiful church! If you have already received pictures that’s awesome!"--Jennifer Robinson

From our member Jennifer: "I went to the Holy Rosary Shrine today - it’s at the end of my street (I’m so blessed!). It’s at the convent and school of The Incarnate Word on Pearl Rd in Parma Hts...(also) the Grotto to Our Lady of Lourdes!"--Jennifer Robinson

From Lil Jirousek: We were just to a funeral, my husband’s brother, and the mass was at St. Bernadette Catholic Church in Springfield, Virginia. The above picture was hanging behind the lectern on the right side of the altar. (...it is actually a stained glass window salvaged from an old church.) The picture depicts Bernadette kneeling in front of Mary. Coincidentally, I had ordered a library book before my last trip, received it, and started reading it before my other book purchased in Maryland so that I could return it somewhat on time. The book is entitled, “The Song of Bernadette.”

From Lil and Jim Jirousek: " We have been in contact with Patty of St. Mary’s Byzantine Church on State Road in Cleveland and were able to access the church this morning after meeting with Father Marek Visnovsky, who was going to have an 8:00 a.m. Matens service. We were allowed to take pictures inside this beautiful church. The first three photos were taken inside the church and the last is a front panel over the entrance to the church, a stone carving made on-site by Sculptor David Kay portraying the Mother of Perpetual Help icon, the original of which is attributed to St. Luke the Evangelist. Of further interest, flanking either side are two angels, one holding a chalice and the other a censor common to Oriental churches. The construction of this church was completed in 1950 and it is absolutely beautiful!"

From Marcia Hart: her photos of Our Lady of Częstochowa in Poland.

From Marcia Hart: The card states, "The Statue is Called Our Lady of Hope" and was purchased from the Basilica of the National Shrine of Mary Queen of the Universe in Washington DC. The statue sits in the Saint Mary of the Falls Church.

From Linda Lagunzad and JoAnn Fellner: Here is a picture of our Marian Shrine present during the Season 2 Speaker Series talk about Our Lady of Fatima in May 2022. The speaker was the Marian Seminarian Kyle Rosser, The shrine contains a relic of Mary's Veil, borrowed from the Catholic Diocese of Cleveland

The lovely picture on the right is the Marian display presented by Finding Mary member JoAnn Fellner. The display was present in Saint Columbkille Church during Trapper Jack's presentation.

Our first pilgrimage of the 2022 Season: Sister Jeanette from the national shrine of Our Lady of Lourdes in Euclid Ohio presents a talk about Mary's apparition at Lourdes, France as witnessed by Saint Bernadette. Her talk was followed by a Mass celebrated by Father Robert Ramser outdoors. Lunch occurred afterwards at the Shrine's cafeteria.

Monsignor Antall provides a talk about Our Lady of La Salette, France at Saint Columbkille Church in Parma in August, 2022. He brought his tiny statue of Our Lady of La Salette, which is difficult to find in a larger size. She is tiny but mighty!

PILGRIMAGE 2: Above, Father Robert Ramser provides a talk at Saint Stanislaus Church in July 2022. We celebrate Mass at the church, pray the Divine Mercy Chaplet, and view the incredible relics at the church, some attributed to (Marian) Saint Pope John Paul II. We then visit Saint Casimir Church (below) for another talk, followed by a Polish-themed lunch.

In September 2022, Sister Anne Victory of the Humility of Mary presents a lovely talk about Our Lady of Lourdes, her order, and Mary's humility at Saint Columbkille Church in Parma, Ohio.

PILGRIMAGE 3: We visit the national Saint Paul Shrine of Perpetual Adoration in Cleveland, Ohio to attend Mass, followed by a visit to the shrine's religious gift shop. The tour continues to the Cleveland Museum of Art. At the museum, Father Joseph Robinson provides a lecture and tour about Marian art. Lunch followed at the museum's cafe.
